Paris History Tours
Privacy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
I’m an independent guide and I run everything myself: the website, the bookings, the walks. This page says what I keep about you, why, for how long, and how to ask me to change it.
Who is responsible
Clément Daguet-Schott, Paris History Tours, Paris (France). For any question about your data: clement@parishistorytours.com.
What I collect
- When you book on this website: your name, email, phone number if you give it, party size, tour, date, language, and your message for a private tour.
- When you pay online: Stripe handles the card; I never see its number, only the amount and the payment confirmation.
- When you book through a platform (GetYourGuide, Viator, Airbnb…): the platform passes on what the walk needs (name, party size, sometimes a phone number). It is responsible for its own processing, under its own privacy policy.
- On the day: the country your group comes from, for anonymous statistics (the figures published on the “Key figures” page identify no one).
- If you buy the audioguide: your email, to send you the access link.
- To protect the booking forms: an encrypted fingerprint of your IP address (never the address itself), kept for 30 days, to stop automated floods.
Why, and on what basis
- Running your tour — confirmation, a reminder the day before, reaching you if plans change: this is performing the contract you enter into by booking.
- Thanking you and asking for a review the day after, once: legitimate interest. Replying “no thanks” to that email is enough to receive nothing more. The review button goes through the website, which notes that it was opened.
- Anonymous statistics and website security: legitimate interest.
- Bookkeeping: legal obligation (dates, amounts, sales channel).
I do not sell or rent your data, I do no profiling, and I send you no promotional email.
Who processes it for me
- Supabase — booking database
- Vercel — website hosting
- Resend — sending booking emails
- Stripe — online payment — Stripe is also a controller in its own right for payment processing
- Google Workspace — the clement@parishistorytours.com mailbox
- Google Analytics — website audience measurement
- Cloudflare R2 — audioguide files
Some of these providers are based in the United States. Transfers outside the European Union rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long
- Your contact details: 10 years after your last tour, then anonymised. You can ask for them to be deleted well before that.
- Dates, amounts and sales channels: 10 years, as French bookkeeping law requires, without your name.
- A private-tour request that went nowhere: deleted on the same terms.
- IP fingerprints: 30 days.
- Booking emails passed on by the platforms: 30 days.
Audience measurement
The website uses Google Analytics to learn which pages are read and where visitors come from, and Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookie. Google Analytics sets cookies; you can refuse them in your browser settings or with Google’s opt-out add-on.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive your data, to restrict or object to its use, and to withdraw any consent you gave. Write to clement@parishistorytours.com: I answer within a month. If my answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr).
